Just send a note in to all the parents that you want to arrange some playdates for him and see who contacts you. :)

I probably would have cried discimination and stayed anyway!
My kids have a playgroup on Fridays and the moms I want to connect with, we Facebook each other. Or I've becomes friends on Facebook with the parents (typically the moms) whom I know my daughter plays with at school.

That's a bummer they wouldn't let you stay.

The daycare I worked at, a lot of the parents would "target" a kid, and try to get to pick-up before that parent's kid would, and then stick around to chat with them when they came for pick up.

So the play-dates seemed to be arranged around the kids that played together during the day, but you don't really get a good chance to meet the parent (so they might be crazy...) I guess you decide on the first play-date if there is a good parent match too.

We had a few people print out invitation type cards for a few kid get together (not a party) and we would distribute them if requested.

Good luck! I don't have kids, so I obviously haven't had to do this, but I still haven't figured out how adults meet friends in a new city.
